Butterscotch Sauce

This recipe is great for fondue with fresh fruit, and it’s very


  • 5oz Golden syrup
  • 2oz Butter
  • 3oz Soft brown sugar
  • 2oz Golden granulated sugar
  • 5fl oz Double cream
  • a few drops of vanilla essence


  1. Place the golden syrup, butter and sugars in a small saucepan.
  2. Then place over a gentle heat and allow to slowly melt and
    dissolve, giving it a stir from time to time, which will take 5-7
  3. Let it continue to cook for about 5 minutes, then gradually stir
    in the double cream and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Allow to cool.
