Apple Scone

Serves 8.


  • 8oz self-raising flour
  • 0.25pt milk
  • 2oz butter
  • 1oz sugar
  • 1 medium cooking apple
  • 2tbsp demerara sugar


  1. Rub fat into sieved flour.
  2. Peel and core apple. Dice finely.
  3. Add apple to the flour mix, stirring with a palette knife.
  4. Add the sugar and stir.
  5. Mix with the milk to form an elastic dough.
  6. Press down onto a floured surface and form a round of 15 to
