Apple and Pear Cake


  • 4oz (100g) butter
  • 8oz (200g) sugar
  • 6oz (150g) plain flour
  • 1 egg
  • ¼tsp cinnamon
  • 2 large apples
  • 2 large pears


  1. Peel, core and dice the apple and pear.
  2. Cream butter and sugar together well.
  3. Beat in the egg.
  4. Fold in the flour and cinnamon.
  5. Gently stir in the apple and pear pieces.
  6. Pour into a 2lb loaf tin, and bake at 180°C for about 75 minutes, or until a skewer comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool before turning out.
